Technical outage causing delays for some flights at DTW, other airports”

Computer problems are reportedly causing flight delays across the US Monday.

The Federal Aviation Administration said Monday that several airlines were dealing with computer issues.

But FAA spokesman Greg Martin said the impact should be minimal in terms of the number of planes, according to reports.

Southwest, United, Jet Blue, Delta and Alaska airlines all use the same vendor - AeroData.

"Some flights that were affected have departed, and we're working to get all affected flights back on schedule", United said.

Several major USA airlines across the country had to ground their planes on Monday because of an outage with a software system. The airline did not anticipate flight cancellations.

The delay hit Southwest shortly after 7 a.m. ET, forcing the ground stop that lasted until 7:45 a.m.

Southwest flights delayed nationally.

The flight tracking website FlightAware allows users to track their flight and to see flights from one city to another on all airlines running that route.

Around 6:15 a.m., Southwest tweeted an update saying the issue had been resolved.
