Ohio Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown Won't Run For President

Ohio Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown Won't Run For President”

U.S. Sen. Sherrod Brown said Thursday he will not run for president in 2020, becoming the latest Democrat to bow out of the White House race.

Brown said he'll continue to call out what he calls Trump's "phony populism".

Brown made the announcement Thursday, saying he believes the Senate is where he can be most effective.

Captain Marvel Stands Tall In Her Nostalgic Cinematic Debut
For all their screaming and furious typing, the unfounded hatred will not stop excited Marvel fans from seeing the film. I won't give further details here, but he's a character you want to see more of after the film is over.

Brown, who was re-elected to the Senate to a third six-year term last year, had recently visited several early primary/caucus states including Iowa, New Hampshire, Nevada and SC. "That's why I'm confident it will continue to be a focus for Democrats in 2020, and I plan on making sure that happens", Brown said in a release.

He had been touting his Midwest roots at a time when Democrats are looking to win back working-class voters in the Rust Belt that flipped to President Donald Trump in the 2016 election. Brown had flirted with a possible presidential run in the months since he was re-elected to the Senate in November.

Throughout the past couple of months, Sherrod Brown has campaigned in four early primary and caucus states.

Liverpool should forget about Champions League, says Gary Neville
We have to prepare him for his entire career, not just one particular game. "It's football - we don't play Playstation", he said. He criticised Everton fans for their celebration - which the ex-Reds star feels shows "how far behind they are".

But while Brown, 66, has always been a leader of the Democratic party's populist movement, he would have entered the race without the national name recognition of Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren, or the established legacy of former vice-president Joe Biden. Brown's central campaign issues included a higher minimum wage, increasing the earned income tax benefit, expanding health coverage under the Affordable Care Act, reducing drug prices, and paid family leave. Jeff Merkley (D-Oregon). Clinton also reiterated that she was not running for president. Thank you for your support as I ran for re-election in OH, and thank you for your support as we traveled the country on the Dignity of Work tour.

Brown, like Trump and Sanders, had opposed trade agreements on the grounds that they slighted blue-collar workers in this country and contributed to broad job losses in a swath of states.

Brown had been seen as a strong potential candidate to challenge Trump in 2020, since he's got an image of a populist in a battleground state that Trump won in 2016.

Iran's president rejects resignation of his foreign minister
Although Mr Soleimani did not address the resignation directly, his comments will be seen as a sign that Mr Zarif could stay on. Analysts say Rouhani faces growing political pressure from hard-liners within the government as the nuclear deal unravels.

Brown said he's not endorsing any other Democratic candidate at this point and promises to help any of them as they talk about issues involving workers.
