Canada approves Huawei CFO Meng Wanzhou's extradition, leaves China furious”

Canada began extradition proceedings on Friday for Meng Wanzhou, a top figure of Chinese electronics giant Huawei.

Canada on Friday launched the extradition of Huawei Technologies Co (華為) chief financial officer Meng Wanzhou (孟晚舟) to the U.S. - the latest move in a case that has roiled relations between the North American neighbors and China.

Ottawa has formally started an extradition process in the case of Huawei's chief financial officer, who was arrested in Canada after being charged with circumventing United States sanctions on Iran. She is wanted by Washington on charges that she conspired to violate US sanctions on Iran.

Canada arrested Meng, who is the daughter of Huawei's founder, at the request of the United States on December 1 at Vancouver's global airport.

Canadian authorities arrested her at the behest of the US Justice Department. There are also wider accusations against Huawei, including stealing trade secrets from T-Mobile, a competitor.

In order to be the top quarterback selected, he'll have to best the 2018 Heisman Trophy victor in Kyler Murray. Murray is now his top QB prospect for this season and Nick Bosa from Ohio State is his number one overall.

Meng, 47, is due in court on Wednesday, when prosecutors will present the evidence against her and lay out detailed arguments for her extradition.

The British Columbia Supreme Court has scheduled an appearance date for 6 March to confirm the extradition authorization and to set the date for the extradition hearing.

It goes on to say the decision follows a "thorough and diligent review" of the evidence in this case. "There is a potential path in the Meng case, as in all extradition cases, where the minister of justice... could need to take a political decision about whether to approve the extradition".

"An extradition hearing is not a trial nor does it render a verdict of guilt or innocence", the Canadian justice department said.

According to analysts, her arrest put Canada in a deeply uncomfortable position between two superpowers who are also Canada's two biggest trade partners and as a result, the relation with China deteriorated over the last weeks. It also called on the USA to drop its arrest warrant and extradition request, he added.

Also, on 28 February , Pakistan announced that it would release the captured Wing Commander on 1 March as a "gesture of peace". Former Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Siddaramaiah also flayed the state BJP chief for calculating electoral gains.

The telecom company, furthermore, claimed that Meng's actions were not offensive under Canadian law.

Several Canadians have been detained in China since Meng's arrest and most of Beijing's public ire has been directed at Ottawa.

That decision was based on whether the request complied with the requirements of the US-Canada extradition treaty, and could not be refused if so. Not long after she was arrested, two Canadians in China were arrested on vague security charges that are widely seen as retaliation.

On Friday, Ottawa said it was going ahead with the hearings on whether to hand.

U.S. President Donald Trump suggested previous year that the United States could cut a deal with China to secure Meng's release.
