Woman dies carrying pram down stairs on NY subway

Woman dies carrying pram down stairs on NY subway”

Like so many New York City parents, Goodson faced a familiar but perilous challenge: hauling her stroller and daughter down the steps of a station that, like most stops in the city's creaking subway system, had no elevator.

Goodson, who's originally from the Bronx but lived with her mother in Stamford, Connecticut, apparently shielded the stroller as she crashed to the bottom of the last flight of stairs. She was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said.

On Wednesday, NYPD sources told The New York Post that Goodson had a thyroid condition and had been complaining of headaches for days before the accident. Police said she had been trying to maneuver the stroller, with her baby daughter riding inside, down the stairs when she fell.

"I don't know, maybe she was starting to feel faint", her grieving mom, Tamika Goodson, said. "The subway system is not accessible for everyone, and that's an environment the MTA should not allow", Mayor Bill de Blasio tweeted after the incident. The New York Times reports that just one-fourth of the MTA's 472 stations are equipped with elevators, an issue many have long demanded a solution to.

Brandin Cooks gave the Rams custodian Super Bowl tickets
The New England Patriots take on the Los Angeles Rams in Super Bowl LIII in a rematch 17 years in the making . The Rams shared the video of the surprise, and Garcia couldn't believe the news.

"I am heartbroken by this tragedy, and am keeping this family in my thoughts".

An investigation is underway as to whether Malaysia suffered a medical episode that led to her death or if the impact from the fall killed her.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help support Goodson's daughter Rhylee.

MTA spokesman Shams Tarek called the young woman's death "a heartbreaking tragedy" and said the agency is working with police to investigate the matter.

Thiel: Rams slightly lesser of Super Bowl evils
The game has already become used to the time stoppages; there's no going back, just forward, for a little justice. They lost previous year to the Philadelphia Eagles and beat the Atlanta Falcons in 2017.

The medical examiner will determine her cause of death.

That particular station had no elevators. Additionally, they malfunction about 53 times a year. "NYC must do more for families and the disabled".

The 53rd St and 7th Ave station does not have an elevator. After the incident, Metropolitan Transit Authority (MTA) officials inspected the stairs, railing, and floor and didn't find any issues.
