North Korea hiding missile bases: US researchers”

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and U.S. President Donald Trump pledged to work toward denuclearization at their landmark June summit in Singapore but the agreement was short on specifics and negotiations have made little headway.

Kim Eui-kyeom, a spokesman for the presidential Blue House in Seoul, said South Korean and USA intelligence officials had been "closely watching" the sites using military satellites and that the CSIS report contained "nothing new".

"I will be the first to let you know if things go bad!" he wrote.

"The continued existence every day of nukes and missiles is itself a daily violation", Mr. Klingner said. "And I was afraid that that was letting off some of the pressure to compel North Korea to action", Kinzinger said.

The "Outnumbered" panel on Tuesday reacted to reports that North Korea is moving ahead with its ballistic missile program at more than a dozen hidden bases.

He also said President Trump is ready for a second summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.

Federal judge’s ruling delays Keystone XL pipeline
Native tribes protest US President Donald Trump's decision to revive the Dakota Access project, and the Keystone XL pipeline. State Department, which concluded the pipeline's impact on the environment would be "negligible to moderate".

The CSIS report used satellite imagery to locate the site of "undeclared" North Korean missile bases, notably Sakkanmol, an operational missile base equipped with short-range ballistic missiles that could "easily accommodate" medium-range ballistic warheads.

"Trump would then declare victory, say he got more than any other American president ever got, and the threat would still be there".

"The United States and North Korea have yet to conclude an agreement that inhibits deployment of missiles by Pyongyang, never mind requiring their dismantlement".

North Korea is believed to have the nuclear materials to manufacture 40 to 60 nuclear weapons, and the missiles to deliver them as far as the United States.

Kim has agreed to temporarily suspend nuclear and missile tests, to shut down a nuclear testing site, and eventually dismantle the Yongbyon nuclear facility that manufactures the fuel for nuclear weapons-if the USA agrees to unspecified demands.

The report says that the 13 bases are not launch facilities, and that they are located in mountainous areas.

The Trump administration abandoned Victor Cha as its pick for the South Korean ambassador's post because Cha disagreed with the "bloody nose" preventive strike strategy proposed by some in the administration as a way to achieve the president's goal of removing nuclear weapons from the Korean peninsula, according to analysts interviewed by the South China Morning Post at the time.

North Korea called off a meeting with U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo in NY last week.

USA officials have said sanctions forced North Korea to the negotiating table and vowed to keep pressure until complete denuclearization.

"I assume the meeting was delayed because both sides realized that significant progress is not possible at this time, due to the major differences between the USA and [North Korea] on denuclearization", said Samore.

Melissa Francis that Trump told reporters last week, "We are in no rush". The White House has promised Pyongyang that it would lift harsh economic sanctions and facilitate financial investment into the country once its nuclear weapons program is completely and verifiably shuttered.

The satellite image of the base in Sakkanmol, just shy of 50 miles north of the DMZ, show support facilities.
