Doorbell Video Shows Woman Abandon Toddler on Home’s Front Steps”

Police are hunting a woman who led a two-year-old boy to the front door of a stranger's home before pressing the bell and running away.

The father of the boy who was left on the doorstep of the Spring home said a friend of the boys mother dropped the child off at the wrong house and just left him there all alone.

It happened about 8 p.m. Wednesday night in Spring, Texas.

The woman took him inside and called the police who then reviewed her surveillance camera footage. The mother said she was in the hospital on Wednesday and had a friend drop the boy off.

The woman rings the door bell, knocks on the door and then runs back to the auto, leaving behind the toddler and two bags she was carrying.

Pompeo in Turkey for talks on missing journalist Jamal Khashoggi
The Saudi authorities have denied involvement and allowed Turkish authorities to search the consulate for nine hours on Monday. Some reports have indicated the Saudi regime may soon acknowledge that Khashoggi died in an interrogation gone wrong.

Deputies say the woman in the video was not the 2-year-old's mother. Child abandonment is a third-degree felony.

The child was not hurt.

The toddler was in the custody of Child Protective Services and waiting to be reunited with his family.

The entire incident took 23 seconds, the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office stated on Facebook. She left before anyone came to the door.

CBS Dallas-Fort Worth reports police do know who the woman is, but have not publicly released her name.

Saudi Arabia denies journalist killed at consulate in Turkey
The Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ ) has been documenting the increasingly harsh treatment of journalists in Saudi Arabia. US President Donald Trump and European leaders all have called on Riyadh to explain what happened to the 59-year-old journalist.

The woman then knocked on the door before turning around and running away, leaving the boy behind at the doorstep.

Neither the father nor the woman in the video has been named. The child is now in the care of Child Protective Services as authorities try to find his family. That's when the dad recognized the boy as his own son, Spencer said. The father told detectives that when the child hadn't arrived in the afternoon, he assumed plans changed and left for the evening.

The boy is uninjured and appears to be in good health, the sheriff's office said.

She said by the time she reached her front door, the person was gone leaving the child behind.
