Michael Cohen's attorney regularly chats with the lawyer who took down Nixon

Michael Cohen's attorney regularly chats with the lawyer who took down Nixon”

The White House's top lawyer has cooperated extensively with the special counsel investigating Russian interference in the 2016 US election, sharing detailed accounts about the episodes at the heart of the inquiry into whether President Donald Trump obstructed justice, The New York Times reported on Saturday.

The president's Sunday Twitter rant came a day after Trump's attorney, Rudy Giuliani, suggested that Mueller's leaking information to the New York Times about McGahn's 30 hours' worth of voluntary interviews was meant to push the president into testifying. Cohn later became Trump's attorney when he was a prominent NY real estate developer in the 1970s and '80s. "So bad for America!" They actually called to complain and apologize - a big step forward.

Shortly after Trump's criticism, the New York Times tweeted that it "stands behind the reporting of our Pulitzer-Prize winning reporters @nytmike and @maggieNYT". The organizations, sometimes on the recommendation of Trump's inner circle, often award plum jobs to former White House staffers who need work - or need a financial incentive to keep their mouth shut.

Trump's original legal team had encouraged McGahn and other White House officials to co-operate with special counsel Robert Mueller, and McGahn spent hours in interviews.

In his tweet, Trump again called the Times "failing", but the newspaper actually reported a healthy second-quarter profit. The Times' stock is up almost 77% since that tweet. "I see the same thing happening with Trump". The person also said Trump is not anxious because he does not feel he did anything wrong.

Getting personal: U.S., Turkish leaders feud over arrest of American pastor
Turkey is calling for the U.S.to extradite a Pennsylvania-based Muslim cleric accused engineering a 2016 coup attempt. Turkey's battered lira weakened 5 percent after a court rejected Andrew Brunson's appeal for release.

"Study the late Joseph McCarthy", the president wrote of the Wisconsin senator who led efforts to criminalise "un-American" political beliefs, "because we are now in period with Mueller and his gang that make Joseph McCarthy look like a baby!" McCarthy's right hand man in his crusade against communism was lawyer Roy Cohn, who then went on to become Trump's own lawyer and mentor.

"Joe McCarthy was a demagogue", he said.

Trump aimed at other familiar targets, writing: "What about the Brennan, Comey, McCabe, Strzok lies to Congress, or Crooked [Hillary]'s Emails!" Trump has previously criticized Haberman as a "Hillary flunky".

Among the episodes he testified to were Trump's firing of former Federal Bureau of Investigation director James Comey, and his obsession with putting a loyalist in charge of the probe, according to the Times.

He added Sunday in response to Trump's tweets that he doubts the president has "ANY IDEA what McGahn has told Mueller".

Real reach advanced talks with Chelsea for Courtois
The Brazil-born playmaker is a big fan of Sarri and believes he can help the coach impose his attacking style of football. Hazard is now on holiday after finishing in third place with Belgium at the 2018 FIFA World Cup .

"Tough as he was, Roy [Cohn] always had a lot of friends, and I'm not embarrassed to say I was one", Trump wrote in the Art of the Deal, as quoted Sunday by CNN host Jake Tapper.

"The president wrongly believed that Mr. McGahn would act as a personal lawyer would for clients and exclusively defend his interests to investigators, according to a person with knowledge of his thinking".

If Twitter must ban Alex Jones, how about Donald Trump first?

"I think the best analysis would be that the Mueller team is panicking, they know they don't have a case, there was no collusion, there was no obstruction, they can't prove it, and they are trying to get the president to testify", Giuliani said on Fox's "Justice with Judge Jeanine" program.

Slate asked Dean if McGahn should resign. "Trump does not like people doing the right thing".

Bachelorette Becca Kufrin on fiance Garrett Yrigoyen's racist, transphobic past
Lindsay warned Kufrin to continually pull herself out of the fantasy throughout the process, so that she could see who might be the most practical fit for her real life - which may be why Yrigoyen and his minivan won out.
