Uber, Lyft suspend driver who secretly livestreamed his passengers on Twitch

Uber, Lyft suspend driver who secretly livestreamed his passengers on Twitch”

An Uber and Lyft driver in St. Louis, Missouri has been silently streaming all of his rides on popular streaming platform Twitch without passenger consent.

Lyft also severed ties with Gargac. Both companies said he violated their community guidelines for drivers, but neither company answered questions about drivers livestreaming.

Jason Gargac, 32, of St. Louis posted online almost 700 rides, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, the New York Post reports.

Nearly all have been streamed to his channel on the live video website Twitch, where he goes by the username "JustSmurf".

"Driver partners are responsible for complying with the law when providing trips, including privacy laws", an Uber spokesman said in a statement to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch earlier this month.

If separate returns are to be filed then it will complicate matters for businessmen in both B2B and B2C businesses, he said. Besides revenue collection, the GST council will now focus on job creation as well, the Finance Minister said.

"I've had a few offline conversations with some folks, and they suggested getting rid of the stored vods as step #1 of trying to calm everyone down", he said, referring to on-demand videos on Twitch.

Uber, Lyft, and Twitch did not respond immediately to Business Insider's request for comment. "We have ended our partnership with this driver", Uber said in a statement to USA TODAY. Lyft has "deactivated" its relationship with Gargac, according to the newspaper.

Apparently, she would help him moderate any Twitch comments that were overtly homophobic and racist, and yet, having users rate women from 1-10 was somehow okay?!

His Twitch channel has been suspended.

Children, intoxicated college students and public figures, including Jerry Cantrell, lead guitarist with the band Alice in Chains, have been among the unwitting passengers, the Post-Dispatch reported. People were sometimes named in the videos, while homes were also shown.

Anderson Cooper of CNN calls Trump-Putin news conference 'disgraceful'
In the last seven days Trump has rattled NATO's cage, demanding they increase defence funding generously and immediately. He said US-Russian relations should not be "held hostage" to an internal political struggle in America.

He said the streams were "secondary" but added "I try to capture the natural interactions between myself and the passengers - what a Lyft and Uber ride actually is". A control panel let Gargac switch camera views as he drove.

He said that at first he had informed passengers that he was recording them, but the videos felt "fake" and "produced".

Missouri is a one-party-consent state, which means one person recording a conversation with another unwitting person is technically legal.

Initially, Gargac told riders about the video setup. "I didn't like it".
