#BREAKING: Shooting at Dixon High School; one in custody”

No students or staff were injured during the incident.

A suspect is in custody after allegedly exchanging gunfire with a school resource officer at Dixon High School in Dixon, Illinois, according to a media release from Dixon city manager Danny Langloss, as reported by WQAD 8. The officer returned fire and hit the gunman. Seniors were inside the gym discussing details about their upcoming graduation when a 19-year-old former student started shooting.

Langross summarized the morning, saying, "We're lucky the officer was there. Because of his heroic action, countless lives were saved". The subject was taken into custody and is receiving medical treatment. Dixon High has been evacuated, and all Dixon schools are on lockdown while the investigation proceeds.

Brent crude hits new 3½-year high as sanctions' impact unclear
Brent and WTI last week reached their highest since November 2014 at $78 and $71.89 per barrel respectively. As the dollar strengthens, investors can retreat from dollar-denominated commodities like oil.

Officials are not confirming the identity of the suspect, but multiple sources tell Sauk Valley News that the shooter is Matt Milby, a former student who was recently expelled from the school. While not every situation will end like IL, it seems pretty clear that armed guards at schools can and do prevent further loss of life when someone plots to commit a school shooting.

Authorities have not named the school resource officer, but Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner tweeted his thanks to the officer, naming him as Mark Dallas.

He was injured, but his wounds are not believed to be life-threatening, according to KCRG.

Nirav Modi, bank's ex-chief among 22 named in CBI charge sheet
The fraud was allegedly perpetrated despite the circulars issued by RBI, which was in the knowledge of senior officials of PNB. The CBI has also booked former IDBI CMD Kishor Kharat, at present MD and CEO of Indian Bank, in the loan fraud case.

No one else was hurt during the shooting. More schools need an armed resource officer and more massacres can be prevented. Dallas, who is being honored as a local hero was sent on paid administrative leave after the incident in accordance with Department policy.

This is a developing story and TV-6 is working to get more information.
