Lewis Hamilton says Verstappen lacks respect after Bahrain collision”

Verstappen was forced to retire after the two cars touched when the Dutchman was trying to overtake on lap two.

Following that setback, there was a clear breakdown in understanding between him and his race engineers in Bahrain.

Of the collision, he said: "I realised I had to back out, but he continued to come across and that didn't leave me any room".

Lewis Hamilton says Verstappen lacks respect after Bahrain collision

"We were racing, which was all fine, and often when the auto is on the outside you should end up running out of road".

"I just think for him, he's a young driver and is going to be learning all the time, he's got fantastic pace but, as youngsters, we do not always make the right decisions", said Hamilton, who is 13 years Verstappen's senior. In this picture, Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 Team's British driver Lewis Hamilton (L) chats with Infiniti Red Bull Racing's Belgian-Dutch driver Max Verstappen ahead of the start of the Abu Dhabi Formula One Grand Prix at the Yas Marina circuit, November 27, 2016.

"If you haven't spoken about it and set up a strategy to action what you need, the guys are stressed in the garage because they have messages from the pitwall, messages coming from both sides, it's stressful for someone like "Bono" - and then I come in. And obviously he's tending to make quite a few mistakes recently".

"I had a good run onto the straight, going for the inside under braking I was next to him, going into the corner I was ahead". He managed to nurse his Red Bull to the pits for a tyre change, but a short while later, his auto failed and he was forced to retire.

Verstappen has endured a frustrating start to the 2018 campaign, spinning out of contention at the season-opening Australian GP before crashing out of qualifying in Bahrain - an error that meant he started the race down in 15th.

"I think Lewis still had enough space on the left but I got a touch on the left rear and it destroyed my diffuser".

But a weaker result, even if the coalition retains power, could lead to an internal leadership challenge against Mr Najib. The former prime minister has chose to challenge the decision.

LEWIS HAMILTON fired a fresh shot in his row with Max Verstappen by declaring his immaturity is costing Red Bull valuable points. Who was wrong, or was it just a racing incident?

When Hamilton was asked about his comments during the mandatory post-race news conference, Vettel intervened.

"I just hope that we're moving forward". If you look at the last race, we should have won that race.
