The Central Michigan-Western Michigan basketball game scheduled for Friday night has been postponed after a fatal shooting on CMU's campus.

Police said two people have been shot dead at a hall of residence at Central Michigan University.

Claus said that as of yet no members of police or residents at large have reported seeing the shooting suspect.

He's been identified as 19-year-old James Eric Davis, Junior.

Earlier, officials in Mount Pleasant, Michigan, where the college is located, said a suspect was wearing mustard-yellow jeans and a blue hooded sweatshirt and was considered armed and unsafe.

According to the Mt Pleasant Morning Sun, the suspect may have been released from the hospital before 8am on Friday.

CMU police believe Davis fled on foot; they are unsure of his current attire after finding articles of clothing near railroad tracks in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. The university said no others were injured by the gunfire.

Students and staff in the Mount Pleasant school district were told not to leave several buildings.

Parents trying to pick up students at the school were being asked to stay off campus.

Police say they had contact with the suspect Thursday evening, and he was transported to McClaren Hospital for a drug related incident.

Pleasant Twitter account, the suspect is a 19-year-old black male and considered armed and unsafe. They advised people to wait for officers before leaving the building.

Friday was a light day on campus with the start of spring break.

Ross Bailey is a freshman at Central Michigan who was sleeping when he was awoken by the robo call.

The college campus in the city of Mount Pleasant in central MI was on lockdown hours after the incident, as an expansive manhunt searched for the suspect.

The Florida gunman, who had a history run-ins with law enforcement, used a semi-automatic assault rifle in the shooting.
