May Says Go-It-Alone Britain Will Thrive After Brexit

May Says Go-It-Alone Britain Will Thrive After Brexit”

May, who voted to remain in the EU in the referendum, refused to say if she thought Brexit was worth it after embarking on what many consider to be the most complicated negotiations in post-World War Two European history. Since formal negotiations began between the two sides in June past year, an agreement has been struck on a Brexit "divorce bill", but the crucial issue of how they will trade together in the longer term has yet to be settled.

There are just months left to strike a deal on the future UK-EU relationship.

On Wednesday, shadow foreign secretary Emily Thornberry faced criticism from within her own party for saying Labour MPs would probably approve the government's "blah, blah, blah" deal that would pass Labour's six tests - which include maintaining the benefits of the single market and customs union.

Labour's Shadow Chancellor John McDonnell said in a radio interview Thursday that the conditions were nowhere near being met.

May kicked off the trip with a visit to a textile factory in Ayrshire, southwest Scotland, before travelling to Newcastle in northeast England to meet a parent and toddler group.

Hitting Coaches? What Do They Do? "When I coached in high school, I hope that I did that for my players". However, an already potent lineup upgraded over the winter and could be enough to put them over the top.

After starting her four-nation tour at a textile factory in Ayrshire, the PM said: "Let's be clear, there is no power-grab; we are not taking back any of the powers that are now devolved to the Scottish Government, indeed the Scottish Government will be receiving more powers as a result of us leaving the European Union".

She insisted each of the devolved administrations would see "an increase in their decision-making powers" and that her government remained "absolutely committed" to the devolution settlements.

Scotland and Wales last week backed bills to ensure that powers brought back from Brussels go to their capitals.

One survey this week recorded support for continued European Union membership at 53 per cent.

And Theresa May's message is suitably upbeat.

They were once strong enough to force the legitimate government to flee, but the Saudi-led Arab coalition has weakened them. Saudi officials aren't concerned, however, as they're threatening to attack Iran over he missiles instead.

Mrs May also set out a vision of economic prosperity at home, and influence overseas, trading freely with friends and partners across Europe and beyond.

Prime Minister Theresa May said, "Today, one year until the United Kingdom leaves the EU and begins to chart a new course in the world, I am visiting all four nations of the Union to hear from people across our country what Brexit means to them".

"I believe we can negotiate a good agreement which is tariff-free and as frictionless trade as possible, so we maintain those markets in the European Union, but also that we open up markets around the rest of the world", she said.

While the majority of voters in England and Wales backed Brexit, most in Scotland and Northern Ireland wanted the United Kingdom to remain in the EU.

She replied by saying her government was having "good discussions" with SNP ministers on the issue, adding: "We have put forward proposals as to how this issue can be resolved".
