Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu was briefly hospitalised on Tuesday with a high fever, Israeli media reported.

The Times of Israel cited a statement from Netanyahu's office, which said the prime minister was taken to Hadassah Medical Center in the Ein Karem neighborhood of Jerusalem to undergo tests.

The Jerusalem Post reported that the prime minister worked from home for six days earlier in March with strep throat and a fever, and his personal physician believes that symptoms have re-emerged because he did not allot enough time for rest and recovery.

The separatist leader has been detained since Sunday morning by German police acting on a European arrest warrant issued by Spain. About 90 people were slightly injured during the protests in Barcelona , including 22 police officers, emergency services said.
