Hanging, poisoning, impalement: British officials investigating grisly Russian deaths”

The UK Metropolitan Police have begun contacting a number of Russian exiles to discuss their safety and put a security detail on them as the investigation into the murder of the businessman Nikolay Glushkov continues, according to BBC.

Nikolai Glushkov, 68, was found strangled at his home in London hours after Theresa May issued an ultimatum in the House of Commons to the Russian leader over the Salisbury poisonings.

His death came days after the attempted poisoning of former spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia in Salisbury, but police have not linked the two incidents.

British authorities say the substance that poisoned the Skripals is a powerful Russian-developed nerve agent known as Novichok.

Marshall upsets Wichita State for 1st NCAA Tournament victory
After a long video review, the referees awarded the ball to Marshall, and Penava had a slam dunk off an inbounds pass. The 6-foot-3 Elmore held up even though he was guarded by bigger opponents.

Scotland Yard announced yesterday that they have launched a murder probe following the results of a post-mortem into his death.

Counter-terrorism police are investigating the death as a precaution because of the associations that the man, aged in his 60s, is believed to have had.

Russia's Investigative Committee, which reports directly to President Vladimir Putin, has also opened a murder investigation into Mr Glushkov's death.

Mr Glushkov was a close friend of exiled Russian oligarch Boris Berezovsky, who was himself a friend of murdered spy Alexander Litvinenko.

Glushkov said at the time: "I don't see anyone left on it apart from me".

Police said a post-mortem showed no sign of a violent struggle, and an inquest recorded an open verdict after hearing conflicting evidence.

Glushkov was reportedly due to appear in court in London on the morning of his death but failed to appear.

Glushkov, a longtime associate of the oligarch, had worked for various Berezovsky enterprises including the auto factory AvtoVAZ and flagship Russian airline Aeroflot.
