Uttar Pradesh: 46 infected with HIV as a common syringe was used”

In a shocking incident, at least 21 people have been infected with HIV in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao allegedly after a quack used a common syringe to administer injection.

Police in India were hunting Rajendra Yadav who fled the city of Bangarmau in December.

The villagers say they rarely saw him changing the needles.

Unnao Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Dr SP Chaudhary said a probe was ordered after noticing a spike in HIV cases between April and November, 2017.

Most are untrained, and some of the cures they offer can be risky, but in India, where the health care system is tremendously challenged, many poor people often feel they have no choice but to pay a few rupees for their services and hope for the best. Of those, 9,100 were youngsters under age 15. India has registered a 20 per cent annual decline in new infections over the past few years, according to the report.

Yadav cycled between villages in the region and offered to treat sick people.

In this case, health officials in Unnao, a primarily rural district two hours' drive southwest of Lucknow, became concerned last July when an unusual number of patients visiting a government hospital began testing positive in routine HIV screening.

"Forty positive cases have been found". Further, the department found that he had used a single syringe for injection in the name of cheaper treatment. Villagers whined that he would give infusions for all afflictions for small installments, Choudhury said.

And now more recently, Apple launched a total of three handsets: iPhone 8 , iPhone 8 Plus , and iPhone X (ten). Apple CEO Tim Cook did acknowledge the fact that Apple "should've been clearer" about their plans.

P.K. Dohre, the medical superintendent of the local community health centre, said that as per information gathered from the affected persons, the accused quack would visit the villages on a bicycle, and conduct his business sitting on the porch of a high school.

According to sources, the victims got infected with HIV after the quack used the same needle to inject drugs in many patients.

HIV - or the human immunodeficiency virus - is transmitted through blood transfusion, use of infected needles and syringes, unprotected sex, or from mother to child.

It debilitates the body's immune system, making it vulnerable to different diseases.
