Tremors felt across United Kingdom after 4.4 earthquakes hits”

A magnitude-4.4 quake affected parts of England and Wales on Saturday, the BBC reports.

The 4.7 magnitude quake struck at around 2.30pm and its epicentre was near Swansea.

Reports of tremors have come in from Bristol, Bath, Port Talbot, Swansea and Cardiff. However, no reports of serious damage or injury has been recorded.

The 4.4 magnitude natural disaster struck approximately 12.5 miles north-east of Swansea at a depth of 7.4km, the British Geological Survey said.

"Events as large as this only happen every 3-5 years in the United Kingdom", the BGS posted on Twitter.

Closer to the epicentre, James Leonard tweeted: "Wow was that an quake in Swansea my house just shook".

A spokesman for the BGS said: "It was a reasonably-sized quake".
