Trump Defends Roy Moore Amid Sexual Assault Allegations: 'He Totally Denies It'”

Let's be clear about something: asking President Trump, an accused sex offender, about Alabama Republican Roy Moore, the Senate candidate who's been accused of sexual assault, is like asking Harvey Weinstein to comment on R. Kelly.

The president spoke to reporters before heading to Mar-a-Lago, where he'll be spending Thanksgiving.

"I've looked at his record - it's bad on crime, it's awful on the border, it's awful on the military", Trump said of Moore's Democratic opponent, former U.S. Attorney Doug Jones.

On Thursday afternoon, November 9, The Washington Post had published a report detailing allegations that Moore, the Republican nominee, pursued sexual relationships with teenagers when he was in his early 30s.

Modi Government 'Sabotaging' Parliament's Winter Session: Sonia, Jaitley Rejects Charge
The Congress on Sunday released its first list of 77 candidates for the first phase of Gujarat Assembly elections . Extending the Winter Session of Parliament beyond Christmas is not unusual, he said, citing precedents.

The issue puts the president in a potentially awkward position, given that the "Access Hollywood" recording almost derailed his campaign and that more than a dozen women have accused him of sexually inappropriate behavior.

The women who have accused Moore are "Trump voters", the president said, before again stating that Moore "totally denies it".

The White House had previously said that Trump thought the allegations against Moore were "extremely troubling".

At an Alabama event on Tuesday, spokespeople for Moore denied the allegations against the candidate but refused to answer questions as women come forward about Moore's past.

Trump addressed the swirling controversy surrounding Moore for the first time since top Republican leaders called on Moore to step aside more than a week ago. Moore has denied the allegations.

Young said Moore "is going to help Donald Trump" pass tax reform and "build the wall" while "Doug Jones is not for stopping Obamacare".

Colorado Sen. Cory Gardner, who chairs the Senate Republican campaign arm, went so far as to suggest that if Moore managed to win the race, he would be expelled from the chamber soon after being seated. Richard Shelby of Alabama, who said he would "absolutely not" vote for Moore. Shelby, a Republican, said he will "absolutely not" vote for Moore. "There's a special place in hell for people who prey on children". The campaign says former restaurant employees and a former customer don't remember Nelson working there or Moore eating there.
