Note: Google Files Go is yet to be officially released by the company, so the current build is ought to be unstable and buggy. People did, however, manage to take screenshots of the app.

The ad-purpose app was masked to seem like a new Whatsapp update and was one of the many fake Whatsapp versions on Google Play Store reported by users in recent days. For those of you with 128GB phones, this may not be something you care about, but if you have a phone like the Moto X4 pictured above, this is exactly the type of app that could come in handy.

For those not familiar, aside from simply letting you explore your files, Files Go helps you clear up space by deleting unused apps, duplicate photos, and large files.

Alongside the simple two-tab experience, the Files Go app has the integrated file transfer feature that allows you to send or receive files wirelessly. The app will not only help users with limited networking options but also facilitate them to free up space when their smartphone storage getting is low.

Here's what you need to know about Google Files Go.

Files Go is a free download here on Google Play. Once you are on the Files tab, just tap on "Send" after which the app will ask you to enter your Display Name. Thankfully, you can download this app right now as an APK even though it was pulled from Google Play Store.

Going by the naming scheme of the program, Google Files Go looks to be a part of the Android Go program that was announced at Google I/0 2017. The feature uses Bluetooth connectivity of your device to enable wireless transfer - without requiring an active data connection. If you have downloaded a lot of files, you can go to the Storage tab and delete those files. The app itself is 5.41MB, which means it is not as big as other file sharing apps like Xender.

The app is available now for anyone who wants to give it a shot.
