Twitter suspends account of Weinstein critic Rose McGowan

Twitter suspends account of Weinstein critic Rose McGowan”

In addition to criticizing Weinstein, McGowan has used Twitter to slam individuals, including actor Ben Affleck, who she said knew of Weinstein's behavior but failed to act and protect victims.

Actress Rose McGowan says her Twitter account was suspended Wednesday after she escalated her accusations surrounding the ongoing Harvey Weinstein sexual harassment scandal.

Countless people took to Twitter to express their outrage over what some thought to be an attempt by the social media platform to silence women speaking out against alleged abuse, while allowing powerful men's spewing of hate and violence to go unchecked. Twitter has since told The Guardian the suspension was due to McGowan tweeting a private phone number, which is against Twitter's terms of service. The Tweet was removed and her account has been unlocked. "We stand with the courageous women and men who use Twitter to share their stories, and will work hard every day to improve our processes to protect those voices", Twitter tweeted.

Hackett claimed Price did not stop once they arrived at the party and even approached her and loudly said "Anal sex!" in her ear.

While McGowan has avoided addressing her past with Weinstein directly, she has often seemingly referenced it.

Though the tweets that resulted in her suspension weren't initially identified, Twitter clarified the issue to the Los Angeles Times.

A second reporter asked Trump if the "storm" was in reference to action regarding Iran or the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS).

McGowan had been unrelenting in her advocacy since last week's New York Times article detailing decades of sexual harassment allegations against Weinstein.

In 2016, McGowan tweeted that she had raped by a Hollywood executive and on Thursday afternoon, in a series of tweets directed at Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, the actress alleged that Harvey Weinstein raped her.
