Trump threatens to challenge media's broadcast licenses”

Donald Trump shocked the world by beating the odds to become U.S. President.

President Trump again slammed NBC News on Wednesday, this time after a new report alleged Trump wanted a "tenfold increase" to the USA nuclear arsenal.

During the height of the Cold War, the stockpile of nuclear weapons from Russian Federation and the US was at its peak due to an ongoing arms race.

NBC reported Wednesday that Trump made the comments on July 20 in response to a briefing slide that showed a steady decrease in the U.S.'s nuclear weapons since the 1960s. That came just over a month after Trump responded to a North Korean missile test by telling reporters that if the regime of Kim Jong-un issues further threats, the USA will retaliate with "fire and fury like the world has never seen".

The United States will withdraw from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization ( UNESCO ). At the time, Netanyahu said the "absurd" vote denied the Jewish connection to the city.

It was the second time in a week that NBC had referenced the July meeting.

Trump has been pushing back against a recent NBC News story that Secretary of State Rex Tillerson considered resigning during the summer and that Tillerson had called Trump a "moron."

Some officials present said they did not take Trump's desire for more nuclear weapons to be literally instructing the military to increase the actual numbers.

"The July 20 meeting was described as a lengthy and sometimes tense review of worldwide US forces and operations", NBC reported.

Trump called the report "pure fiction" on Twitter.

The threat provoked widespread anger on social media and elsewhere with many attacking the president for directly challenging the First Amendment, which guarantees the freedom of the press.

Trump's reported interest in massively increasing America's nuclear arsenal also drew widespread criticism, despite his denials.
