FDA warns of possible drug shortages following Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico”

Gray says, "I'm very anxious and we all are anxious to get back to normal very, very soon but I think it will be a long road before that happens". President Donald Trump on Thursday cleared the way for more supplies to head to Puerto Rico by waiving restrictions on foreign ships delivering cargo to the island.

Trump on Twitter also again defended the federal response, saying that the military and first responders were doing an "amazing job" and blasted the news media, whom he said were disparaging relief workers.

In a series of tweets, the president purported that unidentified Democrats had told the Puerto Rican official "you must be nasty to Trump".

"This is a story of a devastation that continues to worsen because people are not getting food and water", Cruz said on CNN.

Puerto Rico seeks waiver of shipping restrictions to speed hurricane relief
In the wake of Hurricanes Irma and Maria, the damage in Puerto Rico is leading some North Carolinians to take action. John McCain , R-Ariz., in a tweet , noted that the administration "has finally waived" the Jones Act.

Trump is scheduled to speak to the governor of Puerto Rico, Ricardo Rossello, by telephone on Saturday.

"The response and recovery effort probably has never been seen for something like this", Trump said.

In his first tweet after Hurricane Maria devastated the U.S. territory, Trump brought up how the country still owed money to Wall Street.

Trump and the First Lady Melania Trump will visit Puerto Rico on Tuesday and possibly the US Virgin Islands, which were hit by Hurricane Irma.

Mr Trump told reporters on Wednesday that his administration was looking at a new waiver, but he said: "We have a lot of shippers and a lot of people and a lot of people that work in the shipping industry that don't want the Jones Act lifted". "Well, I'm sorry I don't have time for that".

"This is a "people are dying" story, this is a life and death story, this is a truckload of stuff that can not be taken to people story", the mayor said on the verge of tears and sounding exhausted.

He responded to the mayor's criticisms by citing her "poor leadership ability", and also took aim at other officials in the United States territory who he said had not been able to "get their workers to help". Last night, Trump praised his government's response before leaving for his New Jersey club, saying, "People can't believe how successful that has been". "This is a life-or-death story".

Trump previously made headlines when he described the logistical difficulties of helping Puerto Rico by saying it was "an island, surrounded by water, big water, ocean water".

Saquon Barkley Slayed The Demons of Kinnick Stadium
Half full: Trace McSorley is a victor , clutch and a great leader. "Everyone in the huddle was saying, 'Guys we got this". If Barkley does something like this against the Wolverines' nasty defense, then the balloting should close early.

Many in the territory remain desperate for necessities, most urgently water, long after Hurricane Maria tore a ruinous path through the island September 20.
