US Government Ordered to Remove Kaspersky Lab Antivirus Software from Computers

US Government Ordered to Remove Kaspersky Lab Antivirus Software from Computers”

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security has directed that every government agency must remove any and all Kaspersky software from their systems within 90 days.

Kaspersky has more than 400 million customers worldwide, but it has never succeeded in becoming a major supplier to the USA government.

Recall, the Ministry of homeland security issued a Directive that instructed all government agencies and related companies within three months to start implementing measures to end the use of the programs of Kaspersky Lab, since they, according to the Agency, can be used to damage US national security.

The U.S. government has finally made a concrete decision regarding Kaspersky Lab, banning software from the Russia-based cyber security firm in federal agencies.

Election commission official: 'High possibility' no changes will be recommended
DUNLAP: It oversimplifies the model to say that there's a direct path to fraud through the driver's license. Testimony ranged from studies of voter behavior to the vulnerability of the election infrastructure system.

A committee aide said that the hearing will examine risks that Kaspersky products pose to USA information systems.

"No credible evidence has been presented publicly by anyone or any organisation as the accusations are based on false allegations and inaccurate assumptions, including the claims about Russian regulations and policies impacting the company", he said. The US government believes the antivirus firm has been colluding with the Russian government.

Kaspersky Lab has repeatedly denied that it has ties to the Kremlin. It said Thursday that it will continue to get its product to customers "through its website and other prominent retailers". Kaspersky says that 85% of its revenues come from outside Russian Federation, and U.S. stores such as Best Buy have already started to boycott its products. It said the department also is concerned about Russian laws that would permit Russian spy agencies to compel Kaspersky to provide assistance or intercept communications transiting Russian networks.

That means that a Russian business offering cyber-security software may struggle to convince American consumers to buy products that their own government suggests are unsafe.

Tesla Model S has increased the reserve due to Typhoon "Irma"
Cars have been upgraded with 40 miles more juice to help drivers evacuate the region as the deadly storm sweeps in. Tesla said that their Model X 60 D and Model S 60/60D are already equipped with a 75 kWh battery.

Washington's recent attacks on Kaspersky Lab is seen by Moscow as an attempt to undermine efforts to rebuild a working relationship to combat terrorism and to initiate unfair competition in the information field and software market.

However, the company has not been able to shake off the allegations.

Eugene Kaspersky says U.S. users have nothing to fear from his company, despite a government ban.

Federal contracting databases reviewed by Reuters show only a few hundred thousand dollars in purchases from Kaspersky, and an employee told Reuters in July the company's federal government revenue was "miniscule".

Kremlin brands Saakashvili's 'illegal border crossing' as political circus
At the Medyka border, supporters expressed hope that Saakashvili could deliver some of the same types of reforms in Ukraine. According to the State Border Guard Service, 12 National Police fighters and 10 border guards have sustained bodily harm.

Minnesota Sen. Amy Klobuchar, the ranking Democrat on the Senate Rules Committee, sent a letter to Duke asking the department for information about the government's use of Kaspersky products, especially on critical infrastructure and election systems.
