Tesla Model S has increased the reserve due to Typhoon "Irma"

Tesla Model S has increased the reserve due to Typhoon

In a letter to Florida Tesla owners, Tesla confirmed it had issued the temporary battery update, which will run until September 16. Tesla said that their Model X 60 D and Model S 60/60D are already equipped with a 75 kWh battery.

Cars have been upgraded with 40 miles more juice to help drivers evacuate the region as the deadly storm sweeps in.

Elon Musk is apparently one of those people, based on reports that Tesla Motors has extended the range of its vehicles in Florida to aid drivers fleeing Hurricane Irma.

North Dakota to be setting for Trump's 'aggressive' tax reform pitch
The White House did not release details to KX about whether the speech will be open to the public, or who else will be attending. She thanked North Dakotans for their past support, noting, "you treated us very, very well in November".

Tesla has issued a free temporary software update that unlocks additional battery power for Tesla auto owners looking to evacuate Florida as Hurricane Irma approaches the state. The owner has the option to purchase an upgrade at any time; if they do, Tesla then remotely unlocks the software, giving the auto roughly 30 additional miles per charge.

That's due to Tesla using an unforeseen feature of their over-the-air software update system.

The cheaper versions of its cars aren't for sale anymore, but putting them on sale in the first place was Tesla solution to competing in effectively only two segments, and luxury ones at that: mid-size sedans and SUVs.

Nikki Haley Says Trump Has Grounds to Leave Iran Deal
Trump's decertification "would signal one or more of the following three messages to Congress", Haley said. "I'm not making the case for decertifying (the agreement)", she told her rapt AEI audience.

The electric auto maker has remotely extended the battery capacity of some of its shorter-range vehicles to help evacuees in Florida find their way to safety without running out of juice. On Sunday, CNN reported long lines and gas outages at some gas stations in Florida; Tesla's Supercharger network appears to be largely unaffected at the time of writing.

The hurricane had previously killed 23 people and devastated a series of Caribbean islands.
