Mercedes unveils F1-powered 1000+ HP hypercar

Mercedes unveils F1-powered 1000+ HP hypercar”

We are drawing on our experiences and successes from three constructors' and drivers' world championships to bring Formula 1 technology to the road for the first time: "in Mercedes-AMG Project ONE", says Dr Dieter Zetsche, Chairman of the Board of Management of Daimler AG and Head of Mercedes-Benz Cars.

Heralded by Tobias Moers of Mercedes-AMG as "the most ambitious project we have every undertaken", the Mercedes-AMG Project ONE show vehicle is a technological marvel, particularly the high-performance plug-in hybrid drive system. An F1-style MGU-K will offer an additional 120KW of power to the rear axle under acceleration while the MGU-H is rated at 80KW and can be used to combat turbo lag as well as charge the power unit's energy store (which has four times the capacity of the one on the F1 car). That hole is now filled, thanks to the Mercedes-AMG Project One.

How fast is the AMG Project One?

The engine is mounted in the middle of the auto and revs to 11,000rpm; while this is 4,000rpm down on the F1 car's rev limit, it allows the Project One to run on garage-bought petrol and should improve longevity. The vehicle is mid-engined (ahead of the rear axle) and it can easily reach speeds of 11,000 rpm, which is now unique for a roadgoing vehicle.

Teaser images of Mercedes' F1-powered hypercar emerge

The all-wheel drive auto will make use of two electric motors on the front wheels.

It's a mid-engined auto, its 1.6-litre V6 petrol engine with electrically-assisted turbocharging placed just in front of the rear axle.

How powerful is the AMG hypercar?

On the other side, Vandeweghe remains a constant factor when it comes to Grand Slam events. He served 22 aces to one for Carreno Busta , with a fastest serve of 135 miles per hour .

A two-seater vehicle with a small backseat, Mercedes-AMG Project One hypercar is expected to be priced at approximately $2.73 million.

A hydraulically actuated eight-speed automated manual paddleshift, by motorsport specialists Xtrac. Although it likely doesn't appeal to anyone purchasing the Project One, the hypercar will be capable of travelling up to 15.5 miles (25 kilometers) on electric power alone. Mounted just ahead of the rear axle, the engine drives the rear wheel.

Inside the two-place cabins, the seats themselves are integrated into the monocoque and yet have adjustable backrests. There's a reversing camera on the roof, displayed in the rear-view mirror. There are two 10-inch screens, one in front of the driver and the other in the dash center and beneath it are two ventilation nozzles suspended like a gondola.

NASA captures images of strong solar flares
Our Sun may be heading toward a minimum in its 11-year cycle of activity, but that doesn't mean it's going completely quiescent. Both were considered X-class - the strongest type of solar flare - with one of them proving to be the most powerful since 2005.

Just 275 examples of the Project One will be built, with each selling for around A$3 million.
