Kylian Mbappe pens emotional letter to angry Monaco fans”

Kylian Mbappe has confirmed reports of a summer meeting with Arsene Wenger and says joining Arsenal was "a real option" before he chose Paris Saint-Germain.

The French worldwide was booed by his old fans while he sat on the bench during Ligue 1 champions Monaco's 6-1 thrashing of Marseille, their last game before Mbappe left for title rivals PSG.

The Ligue 1 giants brought in Neymar from Barcelona for a world-record fee of £198m, while Kylian Mbappe - now on loan - is to join permanently next summer for £166m. "So it was up to me and I made a decision to come here in order to develop".

"I met with Arsene Wenger, who is a great coach", Mbappe told the Daily Telegraph.

"I want to do even better than last season", he said as he was presented to the media on Wednesday.
