Three 'GTA' Gang Members Dead Following Shootout at Moscow Court”

At least 20 shots were fired inside a Moscow regional court on Tuesday, killing three people and wounding four others, in what appeared to have been gang attempt to take hostages and escape.

A shootout with the court's guards ensued, and three of the defendants were killed.

The group reportedly managed to grab weapons from their escorts but then got into a firefight after being apprehended by officers from Russia's National Guard as they tried to quit the lift.

The five suspects were among nine who went on trial previous year over a series of high-profile drive-by shootings around Moscow's ring road. According to Prosecutors, the gangs put spikes on roads to drive out motorists from their vehicles and shoot them dead. They are charged with 17 murders and two attempted murders.

Russian news agencies are reporting that two people have been injured in a shooting inside a courthouse in a Moscow suburb.

Four attackers were killed, while one was apprehended, lawyer Diana Tatosova, who represented one of the attackers, said.

They used knives and air guns that had been converted to take bullets.
