JD (U) leader Sharad Yadav, who has opposed party president and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's decision to rejoin the NDA, declared on Sunday that a national level grand alliance will be formed to take on the BJP in the next Lok Sabha elections as "the country today is passing through a risky phase". Adding that by attending the rally, Yadav had created problem for his membership, Tyagi added that he is likely to lose his Rajya Sabha membership as well.

"Earlier it was rally of the RJD, but now it has become a rally of Mahagatbandhan (grand alliance) to save the country", Sharad Yadav, who is staring at an expulsion from the party for defying orders, told reporters at Jay Prakash Narayan Airport in Patna on his arrival on Saturday.

Lalu Yadav embraced Sharad Yadav on the dais while welcoming him.

Accusing Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar of betraying the public mandate by breaking the Grand Alliance in the state, Lalu Prasad said the Janata Dal-United leader (Nitish) had no principles, no ideology, but only love for power.

Asked about his party warning that participation in the rally would invite action against him, Sharad Yadav refused to make any comment saying "Kuch nahi bolna hain" (I have nothing to say).
