Liverpool target Keita won't sign new RB Leipzig terms

Liverpool target Keita won't sign new RB Leipzig terms”

Keita has been persistently linked with a move to Liverpool this summer, but the Reds are now expected to wait until next year to make another move having been told that the Guinea worldwide is not for sale at any price.

The German club have since reportedly rejected two bids from Liverpool for the midfielder over the summer.

Jurgen Klopp will not sign another midfielder this summer despite missing out on Naby Keita, according to Jamie Carragher, who believes Liverpool will just wait to sign him next summer instead.

Rangnick admits it is unlikely Leipzig will tie Keita down to new terms beforehand, but reiterated the player will not be leaving in this transfer window.

"I am not now assuming that we will be able to extend his contract prematurely", Rangnick said.

"I can assure you that Naby will be playing with us this season".

The new contract will not only see a significant increase in wages but will also remove the £48 million release clause in Keita's current contract.

"All the other scenarios depend on how we do this season, how Naby plays and so on".
