Trump says he's sending 'federal help' to stem Chicago violenceā€

The President tweeted Friday morning saying, "Crime and killings in Chicago have reached such epidemic proportions that I am sending in Federal help".

During an interview Friday morning on Fox News, Kellyanne Conway claimed that she had not yet had an opportunity to discuss the subject of the tweet with the president.

Last year was the most violent in Chicago for the past 20 years.

Shortly after taking office in January, the president tweeted that if city of Chicago did not fix the "carnage", he would send in federal aid.

According to the Sun-Times, there were about 760 killings in 2016, the deadliest year in Chicago in the past two decades.
