Update on UFC veteran Tim Hague following brain injury from KO

Update on UFC veteran Tim Hague following brain injury from KO”

A video on YouTube that purports to be the fight shows Hague lying still on his back on the canvas after taking a punch to his head from Braidwood.

The 33-year-old Hague, who grew up on a farm in Boyle, Alta., was known as "The Thrashing Machine", when he fought UFC.

Although he did manage to get to his feet and walk out of the ring, he fell seriously ill backstage and was taken to the Royal Alexandra hospital in Edmonton.

Hague had taken serious punishment in the contest, having been knocked down twice in the first round before the ultimate fight-ending knockout in the second. After being evaluated backstage, Hague was transported to the hospital.

Enzo Amore Wants To Knock Out Conor McGregor
While McGregor is known as a striker who prefers to fight on his feet, it's not easy to replicate a lifetime of boxing experience. Not every UFC fan will pony up to see him challenge boxing's biggest mouth, but plenty will.

'Tim is now in a coma.

"Tim remains in critical condition. We will miss him with so greatly", the statement reads. Hague battled Adam Braidwood in the Shaw Conference Centre and was knocked completely out in the second round.

Too tough for his own good, Hague nearly took on a bareknuckle boxing bout in the United Kingdom a few months later in 2016, but instead agreed to an MMA fight in Russian Federation and was TKO'd by a head kick in just 33 seconds.

Fightful would like to extend our condolences to Hague's friends, family and fans.

Hague spent years working as a schoolteacher before turning to MMA.
