Trump again blasts 'distraction of the witch hunt'

Trump again blasts 'distraction of the witch hunt'”

President Donald Trump made a surprising comment about the possible investigation into obstruction of justice for firing former FBI Director James Comey.

The probe by special counsel Robert Mueller, a former FBI chief, "marks a major turning point in the almost year-old FBI investigation, which until recently focused on Russian meddling during the presidential campaign and on whether there was any coordination between the Trump campaign and the Kremlin", The Washington Post had reported.

On Wednesday, the Washington Post reported that Mueller was investigating if Trump obstructed justice when he fired Comey.

And, as it turned out, the FBI had already launched its own obstruction investigation days after the firing - right after Trump went on NBC and himself linked Comey's firing to "this Russian Federation thing".

Rosenstein Says He Wouldn't Fire Special Counsel Mueller Without Good Cause
Session will also testify before the House later Tuesday, scheduled to discuss the department budget. She said that she knows Ruddy well, and she expects that he will clarify his comments later today.

Top Democratic Sen. Dianne Feinstein expressed concern that Trump may try to fire both Mueller and Rosenstein, warning "he's in for a rude awakening" if he thinks he can shut down the investigation. The questions included whether he had confidence in Rosenstein, whether he plans to fire special counsel Robert Mueller and how he knows he's under investigation by the FBI. Although USA Today also noted that the tweet came shortly after a Washington Post report that Mueller's team is also investigating Trump son-in-law and adviser Jared Kushner's business dealings. He testified that, about three months before his firing, Trump pressed him to drop the investigation of Flynn by saying he hoped Comey could let it go.

In a two-part tweet posted before 7 a.m., Trump wrote: "The MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN agenda is doing very well despite the distraction of the Witch Hunt".

President Donald Trump has acknowledged for the first time that he is under federal investigation as part of the expanding probe into Russia's election meddling. And Democrats and Republicans alike have criticized his use of Twitter, particularly amid the ongoing investigation into Russia's interference in the 2016 presidential election. Trump said in a tweet.

It was not clear if Trump's tweet was based on news reports or if the White House had been given official notice. The FBI has only publicly confirmed an intelligence investigation into Trump's campaign.

The sheriff said he's watched the bus video on a cellphone, and couldn't immediately tell which inmate fired the fatal shots. Dubose is serving a 20-year sentence for armed robbery, aggravated assault and theft from a 2014 case.

The poll also found that there is a growing level of concern regarding the contact that Trump's affiliates had with Russian officials over the course of past year.

The debate was then on as to whether or not Trump should be charged with obstruction of justice.

The memo sent Thursday asks for records related to foreign travel, contacts with Russian "officials, agents or nationals" and background investigations into the top Trump associates now targeted by Mueller's probe.

President Donald Trump says it's "sad" that seven months of investigations and hearings into possible links between his campaign and Russian Federation have been fruitless.
