Parker County Mother Charged in Deaths of Children Found in Hot Car”

It says that when she got up and went to examine the children, they were not responding, and that she broke the auto window to support her initial claim that the kids had locked themselves in the vehicle.

Cynthia Marie Randolph, 25, was charged with two first-degree felony counts of injury to a child causing serious bodily injury. Her story changed in subsequent accounts and she implicated herself on Friday.

A report via wfaa told of the mother putting the children inside the vehicle before going inside the family home and smoking marijuana before taking a nap for two to three hours.

Experts say that children overheat four times quicker than adults and could die once their body temperature reaches 107 degrees.

Cynthia Marie Randolph, the toddlers' mother, was arrested on Friday in Parker County, Texas.

According to police statements, Randolph broke the window before police arrived to make the deaths look like an accident.

San Jose State University professor Jan Null, who works with the National Safety Council, has said that up to 13 children have died this year from heat strokes after being left in hot cars.

After noticing the children were missing, she went searching for them and found them in the vehicle.

The sheriff's office said Randolph told them she found her children playing inside her auto at about 12:15 p.m. and ordered her daughter out of the vehicle using profanity.

Ms Randolph initially said they were exposed to extreme temperatures inside the auto for no longer than an hour.

On May 26, the news release said, Randolph found the children playing in the auto around 12:15 p.m.

In initial interviews with investigators, the Parker County Sheriff's Office says Randolph claimed she was in her home west of Ft Worth on May 26 when she noticed her children were missing. She said they "took off".
