Iran: US, Saudis supported attacks”

In a condolence message read to mourners ahead of a funeral for the victims of Wednesday's attack that killed 17 and wounded scores, Khamenei blasted leaders in Washington and Riyadh.

Two guards, 10 government staffers, and five civilians were killed in the Wednesday attacks which targeted the country's parliament and shrine of the late founder of Iran, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad-Zarif called it "repugnant" on Twitter and said the Iranian people "reject" the statement.

Iran's Supreme National Security Council deputy secretary Reza Seifollahi told state TV that the six attackers were Iranians who had joined Islamic State (IS).

Mohammad Javad Zarif called the comments "repugnant" and accused the US of supporting terror. "Iranian people reject such United States claims of friendship", said in a tweet. The twin attacks were claimed by the Islamic State group, media reports said.

Ocean City Lets Women Ditch Their Bikini Tops
But without an opinion from the attorney general, he says they don't feel like they can tell women not to sunbathe topless. Ocean City officials, however, quickly waded into the sand and said that women should keep their tops on.

Other members of the public accused Saudi Arabia and Iran's long-time foe, the United States, of backing the attacks.

Iranian Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani on Friday called the USA the "international" version of the Islamic State and accused Washington of exchanging democracy for money.

According to the Guardian, this the first attack conducted by ISIS inside majority-Shia Iran.

The Revolutionary Guard Corps, meanwhile, has accused Saudi Arabia and the USA of standing behind Wednesday's deadly attacks.

Syrian President Bashar Assad has condemned the twin extremist attacks in Tehran, vowing the Iran and Syria would emerge victorious in their fight against "terrorism".

It then added, "We underscore that states that sponsor terrorism risk falling victim to the evil they promote".

Dozens of suspected "agents" of the Islamic State group have been arrested following the deadly attacks in Tehran, Iran's intelligence ministry and a website close to the judiciary said Friday.

The statement further added that several houses used by Wahhabi-Takfiri terrorists were identified in northwestern parts of the country and cleared of the terrorists.

Although the U.S. military is also fighting IS in Syria, as well as Iraq, Trump said in response to the attacks in Iran that the country is reaping what it sows. He also accused Washington of exchanging democracy for money, referencing a massive arms deal recently agreed between the U.S. and Saudi Arabia.

It spread to the heart of the Gulf this week as the Saudis led a drive to isolate Qatar, blaming their neighbour for ties with Iran and militant groups, and closing its land border. The rift was over comments allegedly made by Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim Al Hamad Al Thani hailing Iran as an "Islamic power" and criticizing Trump's policy toward Tehran.
