Fight on Southwest Airlines plane caught on camera

In a statement released by Southwest, the airline said they were "grateful to [their] employees" for reacting quickly to the situation and working to break up the fight.

The reason for the fight was not clear immediately and the police also could not confirm if the two men knew each other from before boarding the flight.

It shows the men, one wearing a bright red and white Hawaiian shirt, throwing punches at each other from their seats.

One victim was bloodied and suffered a chipped tooth, Burbank police were quoted as saying to multiple news organizations.

The fight occurred on Southwest Flight 2539, which was flying to Burbank from Dallas, WFAA Channel 8 reports.

Michael Krause, the passenger who filmed the fight on his phone, says he did not intervene due to his broken hand.

Cable was arrested and charged with misdemeanor battery. But as the plane taxied to the gate, two men began fighting, Burbank Police said.

Soon the scrum took to the floor as the flight attendant lost her balance, taking Cable and the victim down with her. She did a wonderful job. There are no other reports of injuries at this time.
