Windies Test series to be Misbah's swansong: PCB chairman

Windies Test series to be Misbah's swansong: PCB chairman”

Test captain Misbah-ul-Haq is yet to announce if the tour to the West Indies will be his final one for Pakistan but the Board Chairman Shaharyar Khan today made it clear that the series will bring the curtains down on the veteran batsman's global career.

The selectors have rewarded seamer, Mohammad Abbas, for being the top wicket-taker this domestic season and they have also kept faith in young leg-spinner, Shadab Khan, who will team up with the experienced Yasir Shah and left-arm spinner, Mohammad Asghar.

"Two leg-spinners against a western team will have a positive impact", Ahmed said.

Georgetown hires Patrick Ewing as men's basketball coach
Ewing is coming full circle to the school that catapulted him and that molded him as a basketball player. If finalized, Ewing's hire would send ripples across the Big East Conference recruiting landscape.

No doubt their 3-1 win over the West Indies in the T20 series has been a sound team effort by Sarfraz Ahmed and his men that has propelled them to fourth spot in the ICC T20 rankings, but their unreliable batting has continued to irk both fans and critics.

Shah has been Pakistan's leading Test wicket-taker since late 2014. He has 124 wickets to his name in only 23 Test matches, although he has struggled in conditions outside the sub-continent.

Critics and naysayers have been urging Pakistan's Test skipper to retire from the game after his recent unimpressive performances against New Zealand and Australia. That's why he's been left out, and it's just coincided that the IPL is there and we have no cricket after this IPL series and he hasn't been part of the last Test series.

Fed minutes reveal debate over inflation and Trump
In their discussion of the path of interest rates, officials supported a gradual pace of rate hikes but said they could change their mind if the economy unexpectedly heated up.

"I don't know Misbah's plan, but I have a feeling that it could be his last series", Ahmed said. The two other matches will be played on April 30 and May 10.

Those hoping for Pakistan Test team captain Misbah-ul-Haq to further continue serving the team for a longer period has some disappointing news to digest.

Chief selector Inzamam-ul-Haq said the 16-member squad was selected "keeping in mind the conditions in the West Indies and the recent performances of players" in the domestic and global season.
