United States steps up pressure on Syria ahead of Russian Federation talks

Still, Haley said the USA didn't see a peaceful future for Syria with Assad in power.

The comments from Homs provincial Governor Talal Barazi came just hours after the Syrian government said the USA missile attack on the Shayrat air base had caused extensive damage.

The statements come hours after Nikki Haley, the U.S. ambassador to the United Nations, said that Washington could not see peace in Syria while Assad remained in power.

Does President Trump need approval from Congress to take further action in Syria?

The Kremlin said the Russian and Iranian Presidents agreed that "aggressive" United States actions against Syria are "not permissible". "Once the ISIS threat has been reduced or eliminated, I think we can turn our attention directly to stabilizing the situation in Syria", he said, using an alternative acronym for ISIL.

While "Shyam used VFX to enhance the emotions, Shankar used it to enhance the magnanimity of the film", said Rajamouli.

Assad praised Iran's supports for Syria.

"What America waged in an aggression on Syria is a crossing of red lines", said the statement published by the group on media outlet Ilam al Harbi.

It is not clear who launched the fresh strikes on Syria's Khan Sheikhoun on Friday and Saturday, although the only aircraft that have been bombing the rebel-held region are of Russian and Syrian regime.

"There seems to be a difference between what Ambassador Haley is saying, and what she said last night that Assad really has no future, and what I heard this morning from Secretary Tillerson".

Britain's Johnson cancelled a scheduled visit to Moscow Monday, saying his priority was now "to continue contact with the USA and others" ahead of Tillerson's Russian trip. "The political solution has to come together for the good of the people of Syria".

The U.S. fired 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles at Syria overnight Thursday in response to what it believes was a chemical weapons attack earlier in the week, whose victims included at least 25 children.

On TV talk shows Sunday, top Trump administration officials discussed the potential for more military action against Syria, and promised to press Moscow on its commitment to reduce Syria's chemical weapons stockpile.

"You saw this bad tragedy on innocent people, a lot of them children, and the first reaction from Russian Federation wasn't 'how disgusting, ' it wasn't 'how could they do this, ' it wasn't 'how did this happen, ' it was: 'Assad didn't do it.' Why was that the reaction?"

It's quite possible that Trump's strike deters Assad from using chemical weapons again, which would be a success. She said late last month that "our priority is no longer to sit there and focus on getting Assad out". A very small percentage of the people have been slaughtered in Syria have been slaughtered by chemical weapons.

"You tell the Russians, 'If you continue to bomb the people we train, we'll shoot you down, ' Graham said".
