Saints get Adrian Peterson, but Patriots make much smarter RB move

If it's true, as NFL Network reported Monday, that Adrian Peterson was close to signing with the New Orleans Saints, it'd make sense. The Advocate indicates negotiations are on-going. In order to get that deal, Butler looked outside of New England and found a possible suitor in the New Orleans Saints.

A supreme athlete known as an off-season workout warrior, Peterson could wind up a huge bargain for the Saints at $3 million if he can even achieve even 75% of his 2015 production. After the Vikings declined his 2017 option, Minnesota brought in Latavius Murray to replace the veteran runner.

"Of course, I've said this time and again: We aren't looking for angels", Dimitroff told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution of players in the draft, which will be held Thursday through Saturday in Philadelphia. It's true that Ingram was in and out of coach Sean Payton's doghouse last season, but he still ended up with his most impressive season in a more comfortable complementary role.

The Patriots have spent the offseason making a flurry of aggressive moves, while basically sitting on their hands with cornerback and Super Bowl 49 hero Malcolm Butler.

Thousands of Scientists to Join Anti-Trump March for Science Protest
It's meant to both encourage political leaders to fund science and rely on scientific evidence when making policy decisions. While this focus is more recent, scientists have been studying the Earth's changing climate for a long, long time .

For his career, Peterson has rushed for 11,747 yards and 97 rushing touchdowns. New Orleans' primary tailback Mark Ingram Jr.is a more versatile tailback of Peterson. Unfortunately, the Saints, who crashed on Peterson late, are tied to the much shakier backfield fate. The public outrage led to the Vikings suspending Peterson before he was eventually placed on the Commissioner's Exempt List, missing the entire season after just one game. He signed with the San Francisco 49ers last week.

ESPN would surely love to see the Saints sign Peterson, as their first opponent is the Vikings, on Monday Night Football.
