Premier League strugglers Swansea and Middlesbrough draw 0-0

In reality, a point does nothing for either side in this relegation battle, a win for Swansea would have given them breathing space over the sides below them but now they only hold a one point advantage over nearest side Hull City.

Swansea host Middlesbrough in a real six-pointer at the bottom end of the Premier League.

Swansea manager Paul Clement argued that his team had been wrongly denied a crucial late penalty after they failed to breach stubborn Middlesbrough in a bottom-of-the-table Premier League clash.

It is an opportunity for Swansea to put further distance between themselves and Middlesbrough, who are now five points worse off with a game in hand and the lowest scorers in the Premier League.

The players were a little bit flat initially when they came in after the game.

Pakistan set Windies 138 to win in third T20
Pakistan's Shadab Khan (centre) embraces skipper Sarfraz Ahmed after their win over West Indies in Port of Spain on Thursday. Badree was the most successful West Indies bowler with 2-22 from his allotted four overs.

There was no shortage of endeavor or commitment, but neither side could provide the defining moment of quality that would have meant so much.

Their record on the road has not been quite so impressive however, with the Welsh club going into the Boro game off the back of defeats away at Hull and Bournemouth.

Middlesbrough had to withstand early Swansea pressure, which saw Martin Olsson fire over and Jordan Ayew sting Victor Valdes' palms from 20 yards.

Boro's threat was also fleeting in a first period which started brightly but quietened down as both teams began to settle.

But the Swansea defender's arm was in a natural position and his close proximity to Negredo ensured that referee Bobby Madley was not interested in pointing to the spot.

Gibraltar outraged that Spain has veto power over its future
Looking after the Union Brussels officials have been quoted as saying the EU is standing up for the interests of its members. An EU source told the BBC the inclusion of the Gibraltar issue in the document had come after lobbying from Spain .

The game's most unsafe moments centred around its two best players, Sigurdsson and Traore. Swansea's Gylfi Sigurdsson looked the player most likely to make something happen, but a thumping effort from outside the area was saved spectacularly by Victor Valdes on 64 minutes, while a free kick by the Iceland worldwide flew just wide four minutes from time.

Boro had the first attempt of the second half when Negredo's dummy played in Adama Traore on the right of the area but his effort flew the wrong side of the far post.

But Gestede wasted an even better chance at the death when he sent his far-post header wide.

Injured pair Gaston Ramirez and Fabio could both be doubts for that game after being forced off at the Liberty Stadium.

A free-kick awarded on the edge of the box with less than ten minutes remaining would have left Boro fans with their heart in their mouths and Swansea fans on the edge of their seat as Sigurdsson lined up a shot, which on replay showed the ball was blocked by the hand of Clayton.
