Judge Fatally Shot Outside Home on Chicago's South Side”

Raymond Myles, a judge who was beaten in a road-rage incident a year ago, was shot dead outside his South Side Chicago home early Monday. The gunman is still on the loose.

It wasn't immediately clear if the killing could have been a robbery attempt. She told the paper that she believes Myles and the woman were leaving home to go to a health club. After arguing with the shooter, Myles was reportedly shot multiple times. Words were exchanged, and the suspect shot her in the leg. Myles heard arguing and the gunshot and came to the aid of the woman, a friend the judge worked out with daily, according to police.

A judge involved in several high-profile cases in Chicago was shot and killed outside his home Monday morning, police said.

"Every day civil servants like Judge Myles and those of us in law enforcement work tirelessly to hold criminals accountable and make our streets safer", said Kevin Navarro, Chicago police deputy superintendent.

Turkey Calls For Removal Of Syria's Al-Assad
Russia said it expected the UN Security Council to condemn the USA strikes, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said. "Here we see Assad terrorizing Syria, killing almost 1 million people and some still think condemnation is enough", he said.

Judge Myles worked at the Leighton Criminal Courthouse, the county's main criminal courthouse.

Myles was attacked in the fall of 2015 after a driver hit his auto, according to court records. Myles was taking photos of the damage when the man allegedly punched him in the face, causing injuries that required reconstructive surgery. That driver was arrested and is awaiting trial. While there is now no one in custody, reports state that "Myles was shot multiple times in the body".

Chief Judge Timothy Evans said in a statement that colleagues knew Myles "for his kindness and his impartial administration of justice". Myles was an associate judge in the court's criminal division.
