Georgetown hires Patrick Ewing as men's basketball coach”

The 11-time all-star and 1986 rookie of the year posted career averages of 21.0 points, 9.8 rebounds and 2.4 blocks, and his 2,894 total blocks are seventh all-time in National Basketball Association history. However, the team failed to reach the big dance in thee of the past four seasons. As the team's center, Ewing and the Hoyas went to three Final Fours and won the 1984 title. The Big East, then populated by colorful larger-than-life coaches like John Thompson, Rollie Massimino and Lou Carnesecca, was a Dick Vitale-shouted sensation.

According to various reports, Ewing will sign a multi-year deal with the school and vacate his position as an assistant with the Charlotte Hornets immediately.

The General Motors Company (GM) Rating Reiterated by Evercore ISI
Sales for the month fell 1.6 percent to just over 1.55 million vehicles, surprising analysts who expected a small increase. But that's being offset by falling auto sales, pushing overall sales for Honda and Ford down compared with a year ago .

Ewing is a Georgetown legend. He served as an assistant coach for the Washington Wizards (2002-03), Houston Rockets (2003-06) and Orlando Magic (2007-12) and most recently as the Associate Head Coach for the Charlotte Hornets. He's worked with successful National Basketball Association coaches for over 10 years and yet he had to go take a job somewhere that, before this particular job, was not somewhere he wanted to be. The Vertical reported late last night that Ewing would formally interview for the job at Georgetown.

"To hire a head coach with this depth of coaching experience and personal achievements is tremendous, " athletic director Lee Reed said in the statement.

New 'Game of Thrones' Trailer Sets Stage for Epic Battle in Westeros
Ever since its release, it has a massive worldwide fan following and has bagged various awards over the last couple of years. The trailer then ended with a close-up shot of the terrifying Night King's icy blue eye, which whipped fans into a frenzy.

Ewing has never been a head coach, but has served as an assistant in the National Basketball Association since his playing days ended. "We've known the man for 35 years, the qualities that are associated with the very identity of Patrick Ewing: his prodigious work ethic, his burning competitive intensity". The Hoyas hired Ewing as their new mentor, replacing John Thompson III. Putting Georgetown back into the equation with Duke, UNC, Kentucky and Villanova will make for an exciting 2017-2018 season and tournament.

Ewing is coming full circle to the school that catapulted him and that molded him as a basketball player. The jury is still out on Patrick Ewing as a head coach and a college recruiter.

Adrian Peterson to visit Patriots on Monday
Peterson, 32, played just three games last season because of a torn meniscus suffered on September 18. Peterson is a free agent and has been on the market since free agency began early last month.

If finalized, Ewing's hire would send ripples across the Big East Conference recruiting landscape. Retaining current players - only seven current Hoyas are scheduled to return next season - and bolstering the roster are certainly jobs 1a/1b for Ewing.
