Belfair homeowner could face murder charge after shooting intruder

Belfair homeowner could face murder charge after shooting intruder”

At around 8 a.m. on April 1, the man went to his secondary property in order to attend to some work.

After an "initial verbal confrontation with the victim", Fanning left the building and retrieved a. 45 handgun from his main residence, Mason County Deputy Prosecutor Michael Dorcy told a judge on Monday.

Bruce Fanning (59) declared that he discovered 31-year-old Nate Rosa in the bathroom of one of the houses he was using as an office.

The homeowner went to investigate, found an intruder and shot him.

'Certainly he had an opportunity to call law enforcement at that time, ' Mason County Sheriff's Lt. Travis Adams said. He found the door of the home business property kicked in and the intruder, a white male, taking a shower inside.

Fanning claimed that Rosa was drunk and threatened him to the point where he felt afraid.

He added that his team were also working on recovering the second "booster" stage, which now burns up in the atmosphere. This fairing alone cost $6 million, so recovering this saves a good percentage of a $60 million launch.

Investigators do not believe that Rosa was armed at the time of his death.

The homeowner, who has not been identified, was arrested on second-degree murder charges, the sheriff's office said.

On Monday, bail was set for Fanning at $250,000.

Warning: This sign was spotted in the window of the home where Rosa was shot.

Meanwhile, the district's superintendents extended his condolences to Rosa's family and declared that the elementary school educator would be missed by both students and colleagues.

The sheriff's office reports that "statements and evidence in this case do not support necessary/reasonable self-defense at this time".

Heavy rain, strong storms possible this weekend
The Storm Prediction Center has placed portions of the state in the high-risk category for tornadoes, which is rare for Louisiana. Mobile homes are unsafe during high wind or tornado events and 60-70 miles per hour winds can knock down large trees onto homes.

Target Zone Sports' website largely focuses on blowguns - also known as blowpipes - but also sells knives, crossbows, throwing knives and paintball guns. However, Washington does allow for reasonable use of force against someone committing malicious trespassing.

Mason County Coroner Wes Stockwell told the Kitsap Sun that Rosa had been visiting his mother who lives in nearby North Mason. Rosa's friend is in the military and was scheduled to deploy to Afghanistan and those in the house may have been drinking.

Nathaniel Rosa is seen in a photo obtained by KCPQ.

"This is insane and perverse", one person wrote, in reaction to the story.

Time: Detectives have argued the homeowner had plenty of time to call authorities.

It was what happened next that landed Fanning in hot water, police said.

Democrat, Republican weigh parties' strategies in Gorsuch confirmation chess match
If the Democrats do indeed filibuster, the Senate could change the rules and lower the threshold to 51 votes (they have 52 now). Reed said he was not "reassured" by Gorsuch's answers during his hearings in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee this week.

'There is more to the story that cannot be released yet. "You may reserve your judgment until facts are out".
