Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport wins best service award”

Skytrax World's Best Airport Award 2017 was conferred on Changi Airport yesterday at the Passenger Terminal EXPO in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, with Changi Airport Group CEO Lee Seow Hiang happily accepting the plaque.

Hong Kong won top honours in the Skytrax World Airport Awards for dining and secured top 10 finishes for its hotels (3rd and 5th), shopping (3rd), cleanliness (7th), and staff service (9th).

Asian airports dominated the top three overall places, with the big victor being Singapore's Changi Airport which was named World's Best Airport for the fifth consecutive year, followed by Japan's Tokyo International Aiport (Haneda) in second place, and South Korea's Incheon International Airport in third.

Patriots Sign Running Back Rex Burkhead
Don't be surprised if Burkhead ends up as the starter, which will obviously increase his value and drop Lewis in the rankings. Burkhead is more of a passing-down back, so the signing shouldn't impact any negotiations with free agent LeGarrette Blount.

However, no Taiwanese airport featured in the top-10 list for overall best airport of the world, with Taoyuan coming in at No.21, or one place lower than in 2016. "This recognition affirms our service belief which we have held steadfast all these years - putting passengers at the heart of all we do", he added.

In a release, Sanjay Reddy, Managing Director, Bengaluru International Airport (BIAL) said that the award was the result of innovations and new initiatives introduced at the Airport. Within the last four years we have climbed from the 75th position to the sixth position in the world airports ranking, which clearly demonstrates our commitment to continuously improve our services and facilities and to serve our customers' needs.

"This impressive accomplishment is shared with the 23,000 people who work and volunteer at YVR as well as our wonderful community, passengers and partners. Above all, to all of our passengers, thank you for your vote of confidence!"

8 out of 10 S. Koreans support impeachment of President Park
The Constitutional Court in South Korea is scheduled to announce its decision on whether to uphold or reject Park's impeachment. In the late 1990s, she became a lawmaker in the conservative party and was elected South Korea's first female president in 2012.

"For an airport that is less than three years old, this is truly a great achievement and underlines the excellent service and facilities that HIA provides to customers, Plaisted said".

The 2017 Awards are based on 13.82 million airport survey questionnaires completed by 105 different nationalities of airline customers during the survey period.

World Airport Rating is the global airport quality ranking program operated by Skytrax. The survey was conducted between last July and February and covered 550 airports.
