Obama Admin Blocked FBI Director's Offer To Reveal Russian Meddling

The heads of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and National Security Agency (NSA), James Comey and Michael Rogers, have been invited to testify again on the Russia-Trump probe, US House of Representatives Intelligence Committee ranking member Adam Schiff said on Thursday.

For months the F.B.I. and other USA intelligence agencies have pushed back on accusations of partisanship.

"He had a draft of it or an outline". He held up a piece of paper in a meeting and said, 'I want to go forward, what do people think of this?' " one source told the magazine.

Vladimir Putin denies French election interference after Marine Le Pen meeting
There have been reports of Le Pen's closer ties with Russia , similar to that of Trump's relations with his Russian counterpart. The only French presidential candidate to meet with Putin, Le Pen is one of the front-runners in the French election.

A second source told Newsweek that the op-ed would have included some of the same information as an intelligence report made public on January 6 alleging that Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered an extensive campaign to interfere in and influence the USA election in President Trump's favor. The administration officials reportedly thought a coordinated announcement with the sign-off from multiple intelligence agencies was a more appropriate response.

According to Newsweek, Comey had considered drafting an op-ed, and he presented the idea to top White House officials of the Obama administration last summer.

FBI Director James Comey says the FBI doesn't consider how its decisions will affect politics.

Ford recalls 440K vehicles for fire risk, door latch trouble
Dealerships will replace the current two-piece driveshaft in favor of a three-piece unit with two center bearing brackets. The overheating could cause a crack in the cylinder head, leading to an oil leak, Ford said.

While news outlets reported in June that Russian hackers accessed Democratic National Committee emails, US intelligence agencies didn't confirm that the Russian government was trying to influence the election until months later. "We further assess Putin and the Russian government developed a clear preference for President-elect Trump". Who or what he is investigating and what he chooses to disclose have consumed political and media circles for months.

News of the suspected Russian interference wasn't made public until October 7, when the Department of Homeland Security and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence announced their belief that the Kremlin had meddled in the election. "They did their usual-nothing".

The piece, which likely would have been placed at an outlet like The New York Times, would not have revealed anything about an investigation into possible ties between the Russian government and Trump campaign. "An op-ed doesn't have the same stature".
