Major League Baseball in Talks to Livestream Games on Facebook

Major League Baseball in Talks to Livestream Games on Facebook”

According to a new report from Reuters, Facebook is in discussions with MLB for the rights to stream one baseball game per week on their site during the upcoming season.

On Tuesday, an announcement was made that the rule for intentional walks has officially changed. In an age in which intentional walks actually have been declining - there were just 932 all last season (or one every 2.6 games) - that time savings would be minimal. According to ESPN, the length of average Major League Baseball game in 2016 has stretched three hours and 26 seconds. The new rule, as announced by Major League Baseball on February 22, will change all that. Ratings of sports on conventional TV outlets have declined as more viewers spend time on their tablets and smartphones instead of watching TV. In a world where we are over-scheduled and consistently exhausted, the unpredictable timeline of a relaxing summer game of baseball feels to me more like a gift than a deterrent.

'Castle Rock' Horror Series Details and Teaser Trailer
While the series will be available exclusively via Hulu in the U.S., Warner Bros. will distribute the project globally. This marks the latest in previous pairings of Abrams and King and is sure to be an anticipated one.

The change would reportedly replace the standard four way outside pitches with a single that comes in from the dugout. Admittedly, baseball isn't losing much by killing off the four-pitch intentional walk, but it losing something.

If Facebook does strike a deal with the Major League Baseball, users will have the option to watch the game on a larger screen.

Russell Westbrook Answers Every Question About Kevin Durant By Talking About Fashion
We need a way to have Westbrook and Durant be on different teams, forever. "No matter what I do I'm gonna face some criticism". Durant's current teammates have downplayed the reunion, with Stephen Curry saying the tension has been blown out of proportion.

"I have to admit, " Manfred said, according to USA TODAY, "that I'm disappointed we could not even get the MLBPA to agree to modest rule changes".

In many of those instances, the intentional walk was the most exciting and memorable thing that happened in that particular game. Some players come into camp looking for a new contract, some are looking at a their first season with a new team and others are just looking to continue playing the game they love. This rule change was seen as the least controversial of proposed alterations, compared to possible changes involving the strike zone, installation of pitch clocks and limits on trips to the pitcher's mound.
