Jets slated to cut veteran center Nick Mangold”

Alien: Covenant's new prologue includes an ominous nod to the original film
Ridley Scott returns to the universe he created, with Alien : Covenant , a new chapter in his groundbreaking Alien franchise. It had the sense of the "calm before the storm" where everything seems to be going fine until all hell breaks loose.

The Jets appear to be willing to let Mangold announce the move before they do. "As our Pro Bowl center, Nick consistently demonstrated superior skill and unmatched toughness". The durable center didn't really have to deal with any injuries until last season, when he missed eight games.

Mangold was drafted by the Jets in the first round of the 2006 National Football League draft. The 11-year veteran, who played his entire career in NY, told the media he is not retiring despite his release.

At the end of the season, Mangold indicated he had no desire to retire. NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Mangold is not retiring. It has been one of the most stable positions in team history. He was the team's first-round pick in 2006 and played 164 games.
