Harrison Ford Involved in 'Potentially Serious' Passenger Plane Incident

Harrison Ford Involved in 'Potentially Serious' Passenger Plane Incident”

Ford, an experienced pilot who collects vintage planes, had been instructed to land on runway 20-L at John Wayne Airport in Orange County, California but mistakenly aimed for a taxiway instead. The 74-year-old actor flew directly over the top of an American Airlines plane with 110 passengers and a six-person crew aboard. Ford was recorded asking air traffic control. In 2000, Ford's plane "scraped the runway" when he was making an emergency landing at Lincoln Municipal Airport in Nebraska, and before that, in 1999, Ford "crash-landed" a helicopter when he was taking a flight lesson, NBC News reported.

FAA spokesman Ian Gregor said the plane was cleared to land at runway 20L and the pilot correctly read back the clearance.

Brandon Phillips Boosts Business For The Atlanta Braves
Phillips' departure also means Jose Peraza will be the starter while second baseman prospect Dilson Herrera gets more experience. The Reds on Sunday announced the transaction was official, tweeting a statement from general manager Dick Williams .

The Federal Aviation Administration will be investigating the incident, according to NBC News.

Air traffic controllers then informed Ford that he had landed on a taxiway rather than the runway. The incident is under investigation, which could lead to a warning letter or even a suspension of Ford's pilot's licence. However, for now, it has been confirmed that Ford is safe, and unharmed, which is definitely good news. John Wayne Airport officials did not immediately respond to a request for comment. However, Ford actually landed on a taxiway, flying over a passenger plane for an unknown amount of time.
