Patriots claim Michael Floyd from Cardinals

A day after being cut by the Arizona Cardinals, Michael Floyd has found a new National Football League home in New England.

That led the team to sign free-agent Griff Whalen to a one-year deal last week, but with Floyd unexpectedly becoming available, he represents what appears to be an upgrade to pair with top options Julian Edelman, Chris Hogan and Malcolm Mitchell. The addition of the 6-foot-2, 220-pound Floyd gives the Patriots a big body receiver the team lacks.

Prior to his release, Floyd was struggling through a down season with just 33 receptions for 446 yards and four touchdowns through 13 games.

Did Jim Harbaugh accuse Michigan State football of negative recruiting?
They like to tell that to the recruits, to their families, try to manipulate them into going to some other school besides MI . Harbaugh was addressing rumors that he was a potential match for the recently available Los Angeles Rams coaching position.

Without Rob Gronkowski the rest of the season, and Danny Amendola reportedly out at least until the playoffs, the Patriots were somewhat thin in the passing game. Floyd also was arrested for DUI in college at Notre Dame. The claiming team would owe him a little over $1.3 million in salary, but would have exclusive negotiating rights with him between now and March free agency.

Floyd was released by the Arizona Cardinals on Wednesday following a DUI arrest. Floyd averaged 58.1 yards per game from 2013-15, but his production fell to 34.3 yards per game in 2016.

Floyd comes to New England after spending his career in Arizona.

Why the Electoral College won't stop Trump
Self-described Russian Federation wonk, Politico reporter Julia Ioffe dove in on Page during an exhaustive September expose. In 2008, Donald Trump Jr. admitted that "Russians make up a pretty disproportionate cross-section of a lot of our assets".

The Cardinals mentioned Floyd's release without comment Wednesday in a news release that announced several other roster moves. Sometimes you're under the spotlight, you're under a microscope, so obviously I wish him the best.

"No", he said. "I think somebody's going to pick Mike up and Mike's going to make the most of the opportunity and like I said, I believe in Mike and I want the best for him".

Beyond that, who knows what Floyd can add?
