Obama to face questions on Russian hacking, Trump, Syria”

When President Obama was asked at his year-end press conference Friday about a "perception" that he was "letting President Putin get away with interfering with the USA election", he responded with a condemnation of the media's coverage of Democrats' leaked emails.

"Some of it may be explicit and publicised; some of it may not be".

Russia, which has been accused of tampering with the election in order to install Donald Trump in the White House, seized on the fact that no official evidence has been made public. Dmitri S. Peskov, the Kremlin's spokesman, said the USA needs to show some proof or quit talking.

"They should either stop talking about that or produce some proof at least". "Otherwise it all begins to look unseemly". The former acting director of the Central Intelligence Agency has called the Russian cyberattack "the political equivalent of 9/11".

U.S. intelligence has in recent days concluded the hacking was not only carried out by Russian Federation, which handed over the stolen data to WikiLeaks, but with the intention to undermine Clinton and help Donald Trump win the presidency.

Two high-level Clinton donors tell ABC News that Clinton made the claim Thursday night at Manhattan's Plaza Hotel during an event dubbed a "thank you" party, at which she expressed her gratitude to donors. Updates about the FBI's investigation of the server dripped out at intervals throughout the entire campaign.

US consumer prices up 0.2 percent in November
The result reflects the fact that gasoline prices rose 2.5 percent last month, less than half the 6.7 percent October gain. Excluding the volatile food and energy components, prices were also 0.2% higher, meeting the median forecast.

President Barack Obama says Syria, Russia and Iran have blood on their hands for what's happened in the Syrian city of Aleppo.

"Don't take it from me, take it from independent analysts, take it from the Trump campaign, take it from [statistician] Nate Silver, who's pointed out that swing state voters made their decision in the final days, breaking against me because of the Federal Bureau of Investigation letter from our director Comey", Clinton said on Thursday.

Following the news conference, Obama and his family will travel to Hawaii for their annual Christmas vacation. He was also careful to say that while the Russian hacks benefited Trump, he is not suggesting Trump's campaign helped coordinate the attacks or played any role in them, other than to exploit them for political advantage. Trump tweeted. "Why did they only complain after Hillary lost?"

Obama reiterated that the USA would respond, though he said parts of the response will be directly to Russian Federation and not public.

Navy Capt. Jeff Davis, a Pentagon spokesman, said the Chinese ship acknowledged radio messages from the US ship, but did not respond to demands the glider be returned.

Obama discussed cybersecurity with Vladimir Putin during a 90-minute meeting on the sidelines of the G-20 summit held in China in early September. At the same time, Obama is working to foster a productive relationship with his successor in a bid to influence his presidential decision-making.

While Obama is threatening to retaliate against Russian Federation, he has only about five weeks left in the Oval Office.

President Obama said Russian Federation "in fact" had "hacked into the DNC", adding that the White House was just trying to "let people know" what was going on, and the media interpreted the reasons.

In his interview with NPR, Obama appeared mystified by that stance. But he's reminding the public that there's more to be done on the country's biggest problems.

"We have seen a deliberate strategy of surrounding, besieging and starving innocent civilians", Obama said. "I think this is just silly, and the futility of the attempt to convince somebody of this is absolutely obvious", he said.
